The music icon was born at Nine Mile, Jamaica and was married to Rita Marley and has 13 children. Marley was born in 1945 and his ethnicity is European-Jamaican, Syrian-Jewish. He basically worked as a musician, guitarist, songwriter, and singer. Nesta Robert Marley was more popularly known as a Bob Marley. He won the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001. In 1978, he won the Peace Medal of the Third World from the United Nations for his efforts in promoting peace. He also received Order of Merit from the Jamaican government in 1981.

While Marley grew up in a humble house, it looks like he loved his cars! He used to own a couple of BMW cars – a 1602 saloon and a BMW E3 Bavaria. It is said that he used to even joke about BMW being the abbreviation of Bob Marley and the Wailers! In 1980, he purchased a Mercedes SL 500. His son, Ziggy, fully restored this car in the memory of his father. Marley also used to own a yellow 1963 VW van. His 1976 Land Rover series III was restored on what would have been his 70th birthday in 2015. He tended not to spend lavishly, though he did have some luxury items. He was politically active in his country and worked a lot to increase the plight of the poor.
